Re: [ferret_users] Setting arrow scale in vector/flowline command

Hi,
In fact, the /LENGTH qualifier can be applied to VECTOR/FLOW.  Taking the example from the Users Guide,

Here, the vector scale is listed on the plot as 2 m/s:

   yes?  USE coads_climatology
   yes?  SET REGION/x=150e:130w/y=40s:50n/l=6
   yes?  FLOW/ASPECT/DENSITY=4 uwnd,vwnd

Now, add a /LENGTH qualifier:

    yes?  FLOW/ASPECT/DENSITY=4/length=10 uwnd,vwnd

which lists the arrow scale as 5.0.  (I believe that the factor of 2 involved here comes from the Vector command which draws vectors of 1/2 inch for the length requested.)

Dear Ferreters,
I am using the /flowline argument from the vector command to plot continuous flowlines from u,v vectors. I have something like :
vector/flow/aspect=1/col=black/density=1 u,v

From the online-documentation I understood that the size of arrows "indicate the speed of the flow".
As I am making plots for different time steps, I would like to set manually the size of arrows, not to have it changing from one plot to another. In other words, I am looking for a "/length=" equivalent.
Is it possible ?
Thanks,
Pierre
