Your later question makes me thing you have made a start at this, but some useful tips for a new user.
1) Work through the tutorial script

2) have a look at the "tutorials" page, to see what is there, and explore topics you may be interested in.
For your dataset, you've found:

Try "SHOW GRID salt", which will tell you the range of x, y, and T data on the grid - the translation of the coordinates into world coordinates will tell you what range you can use, for example, for:
(15-may can be used without a year, but only if the time axis is a modulo axis; the average of all Januaries, all Februaries, etc.)
