Re: [ferret_users] contour actual code

Hi Patricia,
The entire source code for Ferret is available from the Ferret Downloads pages,

http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/downloads/downloading_ferret

The contouring routine is in old (but good!) Fortran. Once you untar the source code, it can be found in the file,
FERRET/ppl/plotlib/contur.F

It does not only the contouring, drawing lines as it goes, but also interrupts the lines to make the numeric contour labels. A bit of the origin of the code is discussed here,
http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/documentation/users-guide/appendix-c-ferret-specific-pplus-enhancements/PLOTPLUS-HISTORY-EVOLUTION

Dear ferreters,

Is there a possibility to access the actual code of ferret functions like contour?
I would be interested in the code ferret uses to generate a contour plot from
data.

Cheers,
Patricia
