try using a bit longer version of go land, i.e.
yes? GO land black overlay black !this overlays your map with country-boundaries

Interestingly, I cannot see SST among your variables, are you sure it is there?

Also,
yes? sh grid SST
would give us a better view on your longitudes and latitudes dimensions. This might be also a source of the "land appears all squeezed in the bottom of" your plot.

Hello I am a fairly new user of FERRET and trying to plot data that are in the netcdf format.  My issue is when I want to map the land contour with GO LAND, the land appears all squeezed in the bottom of my plot:

I can't figure out if there is something wrong with my commands or the way my netcdf file is written, or if I have to use a particular map projection (I have looked at some demo scripts without finding any answer to my problem).
