Dear Ansley,
I do understand how the x-window and frame command works. The particular problem, the figures (plots) saved are blank. There is no another window blocking part of the plot window on my screen. Test.gif is what i ran on ferret with X-window server. Thank you Ansley. See http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/documentation/users-guide/animations-gif-images/CREATING-GIF-IMAGES for more on how this works. When you save the image, is there another window blocking part of the plot window on your screen? What is test.gif? Is that what you got when you ran Ferret without the x-server software?
