Dear Abhisek Chatterjee,

Goog job, it is very helpful for model data comparison for the Indian ocean.

Best wishes

dear ferret users,

We have just released a new climatology of temperature and salinity for the Indian Ocean. This climatology improves on the World Ocean Atlas 2009 (WOA) in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone and the rest of the Bay of Bengal. Annual, seasonal, and monthly climatologies of temperature and salinity are available in two sets of files. The first set is for only the Indian Ocean, while the second set merges the new climatologies with WOA to produce merged global climatologies. In addition, we have prepared a seasonal climatology for the Indian Ocean based on a "monsoonal" definition of seasons.

The climatologies are available at http://www.nio.org/index/option/com_nomenu/task/show/tid/2/sid/18/id/229

The
paper that describes this new climatology (Abhisek Chatterjee et al., A
New Atlas of Temperature and Salinity for the North Indian Ocean) is in
press and will be published shortly in the Journal of Earth System Science.

We hope you find this climatological atlas useful.

Regards,
Abhisek Chatterjee
