It shows how to compute a monthly climatology, but the process is the 
same for a seasonal one. You'll notice that when you open the 
climatological_axes datset, a seasonal climatological axis SEASONAL_REG, 
is set up for you:

  yes? USE climatological_axes
   *** NOTE: regarding 
/home/users/tmap/ferret/linux/go/climatological_axes.cdf ...
   *** NOTE: Climatological axes SEASONAL_REG, MONTH_REG, MONTH_IRREG,
