Re: [ferret_users] vector/nolabels/key
Hi -
To change the location of the key, you can use the PPL VECKEY command.
Here's a note about that:
http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/maillists/tmap/ferret_users/fu_2003/msg00833.html
The last argument for veckey is the formatting of the numeric label -
for positioning it you'll just need the first two arguments.
Here's from a script I use - it puts the vector key up at the top of the
plot
yes? vector/set uwnd, vwnd
yes? ppl veckey/unouser 2, `($ppl$ylen)+0.2`
yes? ppl vector

Hi Jessie,
What version of Ferret are you running? The VECTOR/KEY qualifier is
fairly new, and is only available in Ferret v6.64 and higher.

I'm trying to overlay some current vectors on fields; I don't want
the labels but I do need a current key. I looked and the
documentation and used the following:
vector/overlay/nolabels/key/l=2/k=1/xskip=2/yskip=3/length=.5
uavg[d=3],vavg[d=3]
ferret gives me this error:
**ERROR: unknown command qualifier: key
Is there a way to get that key on the plot without a lot of bitmap
editing?
Also, while I'm at it, is there a way to change the location of that
key?
Thanks!
