First, for postscript/pdf output, it is usually better to thicken the
vectors (or any lines) in the plot commands:

vector/line=7 ucomp,vcomp ! or /line=13

The thickening indeed works for vector arrows, but not for the text.

You can do the same for text by specifying the pen number:

label,x,y,justify,angle,charsize,@c007My label text

The syntax @cNNN specifies pen numbers in the same way as the line number. You can change pen color or thickness multiple times in a label.

Further, this makes possible "The most useful Ferret command of the them all": The erasing pen, number 19.

Suppose you make a mistake in a label (typo, whatever). Simply redo the label with pen @c019: Et voila! it is erased!

You might also look at the manual, Chapter 6 Section 5.1.2. PPLUS text and line color commands, for more control of pen and line changes.
