[ferret_users] FERRET build for Linux 2.6.16 ?

Hello,

Have been trying to install a 64 bit version of FERRET for Linux.  The pre-built binaries were giving us library incompatibility issues and the static version was having some other minor issues.  

Here is the result of "uname -a" on the system...

Linux pfe7 2.6.16.60-0.68.1.20100916-nasa #1 SMP Fri Sep 17 17:49:05 UTC 2010 
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The NASA Pleiades system runs SuSE (SLES10).  Building FERRET with the source code has been a chore (REAME is difficult).  Has anyone built FERRET with the above version of Linux?
