Re: [ferret_users] xtics for time axis
txlint,low,high time axis lab intervals (0,1=yr only; 1,0=mon only;
3,1=every 3 mon+yr)
txnmtc,icode icode=-1 for large tics at year breaks
txtype,type,style type=days,mon,yr(def); style=hr,hrday/day,daymon/
mon1,mon3,monyr
(Find better descriptions in the PPLUS manual). There's a lot of
control over these tics.

Dear Ferreters,
When I make a plot of a variable spanning 7000 years, there are so
many tics on the x-axis they all blend into one fat looking axis.
There seems to be a tic for every year - but I only want a tic every
1000 years. I have tried to reduce the number of tics using plot/
hlimits=0:7000:1000 temp , and by setting
PPL AXATIC 7,10 - but neither of these seemed to work. Is there a
special trick from setting the number of tics on a time axis?
Thanks
Neil
