Re: [ferret_users] problem in saving plot in wondows-ferret

Hello,

The FRAME/FILE=name.gif (in x-windows mode, not starting Ferret with
ferret -gif) just captures what's on the screen, so another alternative
would be to just do that yourself with the PrintScreen key and and
pasting into a free software program such as IrfanView (where you would
have to do just a bit to the image, such as removing the windows
border). Then you can save the gif image and use it as you wish.

I guess this would work. Just a few notes.

You can capture a single window with the key Alt-PrintScreen.

IrfanView is not free software. (Where is the license; where is the source code?) For instance the GIMP is free software, but if you use Windows, MS Paint would suffice for such a job.
