I guess this would work.  Just a few notes.

You can capture a single window with the key Alt-PrintScreen.

IrfanView is not free software.  (Where is the license; where is the 
source code?)  For instance the GIMP is free software, but if you use 
Windows, MS Paint would suffice for such a job.
