Re: [ferret_users] irregular depth axis

Try plotting or listing the points. Are they in fact monotonically increasing?

When you define a depth axis, the values should be INCREASING (downward). Perhaps you need zax[d=1]*(-1).

Dear All,

I have a problem in defining an irregular depth axis from a file.
I attach the depth file in this email.

I use the following commands:

----------------------
set mode verify
file/var=zax/format=(F7.2) test.dat
def axis/depth/z/npoints=173/unit="days"/name=z1/from_data zax[d=1]
---------------------

But I got an error message

**ERROR: improper grid or axis definition: data for DEFINE AXIS/ FROM_VARIABLE is not monotonic

I appreciate any help you might have.

Best regards,
