Re: [ferret_users] Problems with curv_to_rect

Hi Jean,
You define the curvilinear variables that you send to the function curv_to_rect_map as a subset of the input curvilinear variables :

  yes? let lonin = longitude[d=1, i=2800:3220 , j=958:1390]
  yes? let latin = latitude[d=1, i=2800:3220 , j=958:1390]

Then when you use the mapping function, I think you need to also use that same subset of your data field:

   yes? let out_ssh = curv_to_rect(ssh[d=1,i=2800:3220,j=958:1390,L=1], map[d=2])

Then the indices in the mapping function will refer to the correct indices in the grid of variable ssh.

Hi Ferreters,

the curv_to_rect is a mysterious for me. I used different "radius of influence" (0.2,0.5 and 1) and different "scales of axis" ( -180:180 and 0:360), as it was suggested by Steve (thanks Steve!), but I figured out the following:

1) I dont know why, but in all cases my curv_map.nc has the shape above, with "k" and "L"

 "2> ./curv_map.nc  (default)
 name     title                                                    I         J         K         L
 MAP      CURV_TO_RECT_MAP(LONIN,LATIN,LO  1:389     1:376     1:4       1:3"

2) in all cases "shade" doesnt work, it gives me the error below

yes? shade out_ssh
 *** Unknown error code:      2002 ***
             Data set:
             Data file: %%

3) and in all cases "fill" gives me the attached figure , that definitively it isnt my area (south of South America).

I'll appreciate  if anyone can help.

Regards ,

Jean
