Hi Yadu,
The file type written by the FRAME command is HDF if you don't
explicitly give a format type. It will be a GIF image if you give a
filename that ends in .gif, or if you specify /FORMAT=gif. so if you
want a gif image you should say
yes? frame/file=file_name.png/format=gif
Another alternative to look at is to start Ferret in gif mode, which
writes the gif image file directly, without an x-window.

yes? ! Run your graphics commands
yes? frame/file=file_name.png/format=gif

Dear ferreters,
I am using the -gif option to create gif/png images, and use
frame/file=file_name.png
When I do this the shaded images are fine but the quality of plotted
lines is very poor and the lines get distorted when I print or copy
them to word file.
Can anybody help me to get improved quality images.
Is there anything in ferret to control or set the dot per inches (dpi)
of the images.
Thanks in advance.
