[ferret_users] quality of gif/png images

Dear ferreters,

I am using the -gif option to create gif/png images, and use 

frame/file=file_name.png

When I do this the shaded images are fine but the quality of plotted lines is very poor and the lines get distorted when I print or copy them to word file. 
Can anybody help me to get improved quality images.  

Is there anything in ferret to control or set the dot per inches (dpi) of the images.
