[ferret_users] Does anyone still use HDF animations?
Hi all,
There's a Ferret command that I know people used to use to make HDF
movies/ mpeg animations. We're wondering if anybody still uses this.
Perhaps not, with many other options for animating a set of images
available to us these days, such as whirlgif, which we describe in the
users guide here,
http://porter.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/home/documentation/users-guide/animations-gif-images/OVERVIEW
The HDF animations (FRAME/FORMAT=HDF or FRAME/FILE=my_movie.mgm )
require us to build Ferret with libraries that are only there for this
file format. In the effort to support Ferret on more operating systems,
keeping the number of libraries we use to a minimum is always a good thing.
Your comments??
