Re: [ferret_users] Vertical axis correction
Hi Paulo,
Just use the vlimits qualifier when you plot. E.g., if your pressure
levels went from 1000hPa to the top of the atmosphere you could do
something like:
yes? fill/vlimits=1000:0:100 your_data[y=@ave]
which will give a z-axis with a tick mark every 100hPa. (See the manual
for more information about customising tick marks etc. using ppl commands.)
Note, if your data is provided in netCDF format you can add the
'postive=down' attribute to the z-axis when it is defined. This means
that ferret will automatically recognise that the z-axis runs from high
values at the surface to lower values aloft.
Hope this helps,
Paul

Hi Ferreters,
I have some modeled moteorological data and I would like to
fill/shade/contour vertical profiles.
The vertical levels are pressure surfaces. When I do a X-Z plot I got
an inverted vertical axis with higher pressures on top and lower
pressures on botton.
How can I invert the axis?
Cheers
