[ferret_users] install the ferret to linux

Hi, I am trying to install the ferret to Linux system. And I have tried two versions of ferret: V6.07,V5.81, while it has the following error when I run 'ferret':

V6.07
ferret：usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version 'GLIBCPP_3.2.2' not found 
ferret: /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0: Version "GLIBC_2.3.2" not found

V5.81:
ferret: /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0: Version "GLIBC_2.3.2" not found

My system information (I think maybe due to the version conflict with my system)
Linux Version 2.4.18-14smp (gcc version 3.2 20020903) 
Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7
Bash shell

Could you please tell me how to resolve this problem, thank in advance for your help.
