[ferret_users] Re: any way to do "squeeze"?

Oops, never mind. I had to cancel the data sets that contained the old grid before it acted like it was on a depth-axis-less grid.

Thanks anyway!

Hello,

I am trying to get rid of a singleton (depth) dimension for a variable that is unimportant and was actually unnecessarily created by one of my own scripts which create NetCDF files. However, I am unsure how to do this. Somehow, just doing an @ave or @sum transformation and resaving the variable in a new file does not get rid of some stored information which somehow still attributes that variable to that depth value. In Matlab, there is "squeeze" which just flat out gets rid of a dimension which is one column in size. Is there any way to do this in Ferret (and in such a way that it retains no memory of what location in that dimension it had)?

Thanks!
