[ferret_users] make_des does not work on NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data

Dear Ferret Users:

I have trouble with creating .des from multiple-year forcing files from 
NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data.
The reason for this is that all those files have exactly the same time for 
the time axis (see below) and
there aren't any increments of time from year to year.

MONTH_REG = 366, 1096.485, 1826.97, 2557.455, 3287.94, 4018.425, 4748.91,
    5479.395, 6209.88, 6940.365, 7670.85, 8401.335 ; (in hours)

I wonder if you know how to solve this problem?

Given that I couldn't combine multi-year forcing to a single des file, so I 
am going to do the calculation
for every year (i.e., areal averaged precipitation for each year) and save 
them in an array. For example.
I can use the loop to get one single value for each year. But how can I put 
them into an array?
