Also try

WHERE

Then click your mouse at the spot you want, and the coordinates will  
be written to the command window. A note of caution on WHERE: On at  
least some systems (Sun Solaris), this only works in window number 1,  
and Ferret will hang until the mouse is clicked in window 1. On Macs,  
WHERE doesn't appear to work at all.
