[ferret_users] variable average on irregular area

Hi Ferret users,

How can I calculate average of a variable ( for exemple rainfall) on
an irregular area,  such a country, delimited by a polyline ?
It seemed to me there were some mails about that, but I did not
found them in the ferret mail archive.
