Hi Carol,
This is indeed a bug, in some code intended to fix another bug having
to do with the precision of the labels on color keys.It comes up only
with the SHAKEY setting klab_dig=0 (argument 5)
This'll be fixed in the next release, but a workaround is to let the
5th argument to SHAKEY take its default value, or set it to something
other than 0.
fill/k=1/l=1/lev=(-inf)(-5,5,1)(inf)/key/set temp
ppl shakey 1,0,.16,0, ,4,1,7,5.1,5.4
ppl fill

Hi Ansley,
Here's an example:
go dods_pmel ocean_atlas_monthly.nc
set region/x=180:130w/y=40n:60n
fill/k=1/l=1/lev=(-inf)(-5,5,1)(inf)/key/set temp
ppl shakey 1,0,.16,0,0,4,1,7,5.1,5.4

Hi Carol,
Can you send an example showing what's not working? We have a number
of tests which do work with the open-ended levels and SHAKEY; for
instance,
use coads_climatology
shade/nolab/set/lev=(-inf),(4,28,2)(inf) sst[L=1]
ppl shakey,1,0,-0.1, , , , , ,7.5
ppl shade
fill/set/lev=(-inf)(5,25,1)(inf) sst[L=1]
shade/title="shift shakey left and up"/lev=(-inf)(5,25,1)(inf)/set
sst[l=1]
ppl shakey ,,0.12,,,,9.2,,1.8
ppl fill

I really like the new open-ended levels in version 5.81 (ie. fill/lev=(-inf)(-5000,5000,1000)(inf)
rose). However, this feature doesn't seem to work with ppl shakey.
When I try to customize the key size and placement using ppl shakey
along with the open-ended levels, my computer hangs up. I assume this
is a bug that I can't do anything about. But if anyone can think of a
work-around, let me know.
Thanks.
Carol
