Just wanted to report that ferret v581 complains when I try to read in an IPCC data file:

whereas this message was not given for at least v570 and v580 – it doesn’t mean that it is a bug but certainly a different response. The first longitude is 0 and so the first bounds element is negative, possibly that is where the problem is.
