is there a trick to getting ferret to work under slackware? version 5.60 works perfectly, but i can't get any of the more recent ones to work. 'ferret -gui' produces reems of warning messages like this:

a partial gui does then come up, but there aren't any
widgets to click on.

this problem was noted in the 'known bugs' page but
claims to have been fixed in version 4.45 - looks like it might have crept back in after 5.6 :-(
