Re: [ferret_users] Announcing Ferret v5.81

Hi Jaison -

You are right, there was a mismatch of links there. Ansley is on vacation, so I went ahead and fixed them up.

Thanks for letting us know -

Kevin

Hi Ansley,
I think there is an error in the links for Ferret5.81 downloads
for "Linux: statically linked" catogory. On following page, http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/Downloads/linux_static_downloads.html

Ferret Executables & Ferret Environment links are pointing to

ftp://www.ferret.noaa.gov/pub/linux_rh9/fer_executables.tar.Z
& ftp://www.ferret.noaa.gov/pub/linux_rh9/fer_environment.tar.Z

respectively (ie to the RedHat9 version). But those should be

ftp://www.ferret.noaa.gov/pub/linux_static/fer_executables.tar.Z
& ftp://www.ferret.noaa.gov/pub/linux_static/fer_environment.tar.Z

respectively.

Please do confirm....

With Regards

Jaison

Annoucing the official version 5.81 of Ferret. This is mostly a bug-fix release, and is being made now to coincide with the release of LAS 6.5.1
It is required for LAS 6.5.1 to run properly. Look for a Ferret release with more new features later in the summer of 2005.

With this release we introduce a statically linked linux executable for Ferret, which should run on many more of the linux platforms.

To install Ferret, download the file from the Ferret Web site or anonymous ftp site:

Web address: http://www.ferret.noaa.gov/
anonymous ftp: ftp.ferret.noaa.gov
