Re: multiNetCDF descriptor, LAS, and OpenDAP

Hi Matt,
No, there's not a 72-character limit on lines of descriptor files. I saved the portion of the descriptor file that you gave here, and created subdirectories to my local directory named NCOMCCS/h002/expt_09.0/

Running Ferret from the unix command line, not via an LAS, the file opens up fine, and I can access the data. You might try this same experiment (versions 5.7 and 5.8 of Ferret behave the same).

yes? sh data

Greeting all,

I am trying to setup a dataset in LAS using a descriptor file. The
dataset is separated to one file per variable per timestep. After
configuring LAS and creating the des file, I get the following error from
LAS:

I have heard rumors of a 72 column limit for descriptor files, could this
have anything to do with the failure? Any help is appreciated and

Thanks in advance,
Matt
