Versions later than 5.53 on Redhat 7.3

Has anyone been able to get newer versions of Ferret to work with Redhat
7.3?  I've just tried the everything newer than 5.53 using the Redhat 7.1
versions and RH71complib but to no avail.  The messages are:

/usr/local/ferret/bin/ferret_v560: /usr/local/ferret/RH71complib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_PRIVATE' not found (required by /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0)
/usr/local/ferret/bin/ferret_v570: /usr/local/ferret/RH71complib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_PRIVATE' not found (required by /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0)
/usr/local/ferret/bin/ferret_v580: error while loading shared libraries: libgcc_s.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any ideas?  I know 7.3 is very old...
