plotting global attributes

Hi all,

Here is a question that I kinda already know that ferret doesn't handle
right now, but anyway...

I'm trying to plot many locations and their names from many netcdf files.
For instance, I have lat lon as variables which are easy to plot, but now I
want their station name to be labeled above it.  Problem is, the station
name is a global attribute.

I'm up for suggestions on work arounds and if anyone has done this
successfully.

Perhaps on the next version of ferret this will be incorporated?
