Re: memory size

Hi Vincent,
The functions do have an upper limit on the overall size of the problem they
can solve. See this item from the mail archives:
http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/Mail_Archives/fu_2003/msg00142.html

The test for this limit was added to the functions starting with Ferret version 5.53.
You might consider regridding your data to a coarser grid before calling the
EOF function.

Dear ferreters,

I experience a problem of memory size when using functions about EOFs
(eof_space, eof_stat). I have a 2D spatial field of 35400 grid points
with 10121 non-missing (valid) points. This field is varaible over 183
days with a step of 1 day. Increasing memory size does not solve the
problem. I am running ferret v5.41 on RedHat 9.
Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance,

Vincent
