EOF's can be done in Octave as well RE: SAVE in EOF analysis

Octave is an open-source partial clone of Matlab, and I
use it to complement ferret for things like non-standard
EOFs (eg to orthogonalize inter-model variance) which are
very easy to do in Octave (and Matlab).
