file/skip modulo 4 must be zero?

Hi,

I'm wondering why the file/skip option is constrained to be 4-byte
words. If I want to use Ferret to read a binary file where I need to
ignore some number of bytes that doesn't happen to be divisible by four
then I'm simply out of luck?

Why limit Ferret to reading data on 4-byte boundaries, especially when
Ferret can read 2-byte integers?

Thanks,

Mark
