Hi Jose,
It looks like Billy got you started with his routine to read NetCDF
files.

A further thought:  when there are things you'd like to do with Ferret
that aren't available, but that you can do with Fortran, that's where the Ferret
External Functions are perfect for the job.  The documentation is in the
Users Guide, Chapter 11, and on the External Functions web page.
