Ferret script in batch on linux machines

Hi Ferreters,

Could you test the following script (dum.jnl) in batch for me.

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

say
"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890"

I works properly on a DEC Alpha but neither on a
Linux (Redahat 6.1) nor on a Linux (Mandrake 7.0).
I get the following message:
**ERROR: command syntax: unpaired quotation marks, grave accent or
brackets
If you supress a line it works properly.

Might be an hard limitation somewhere in the ferret
code ? Really annoying for batch calculations.
So try
ferret < dum.jnl

Moreover I need to add "exit" in batch scripts on Linux
machines to get a correct end (ferret process ends normally)
but not on the DEC Alpha. Can't see why ?

Thanks for any tips.
Patrick
