Solaris install problem

Dear ferret users,

I have installed the Solaris 2.6 binary on my machine that
runs Solaris 2.7, using OpenWindows.  When I execute "ferret -gui"
I get:

  X Error of failed request:  BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)
    Major opcode of failed request:  14 (X_GetGeometry)
    Resource id in failed request:  0x0
    Serial number of failed request:  2176
    Current serial number in output stream:  2176

I then ran the binary on a Solaris system using CDE where I get a main
ferret window with a bunch of gray boxes and no text.  

Both systems are running in 32-bit mode.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
