The script works if the longitude (or a range of longitudes) is defined.
It tried the following and it worked.
yes? go fland_levitus z=0:1000 gray overlay x=30:30 y=-90:90
The script will not work for
yes? go fland_levitus z=1:5000 y=90s:90n
FERRET reports an error "*** NOTE: 3rd argument of GO fland_levitus must
be "overlay", "basemap", or "transparent" ."
I am not sure how to do this for an average over a range of longitudes.
Since the file levitus_mask.nc has a MASK defined, I guess it is necessary
to define a new variable, say, MASK_AVE, to get the new mask over the
required region. Then, you could use MASK_AVE instead. Only, an average
won't work here because you need to define land at a given y-z point
even if there is land at just one longitude.
I have never done this, but think it should work. The FERRET gurus will
correct me if I am wrong :).
