gui on suse linux

Hi all,

whenever trying "ferret -gui", ferret tries to open a window (the borders
become visible), but immediately stops with a "Segmentation fault" error
message. 
I'm running ferret V500beta1.1 on SuSE Linux 6.0 with XFree86 version 3.3.3.
