Britain and the United States establish an Ocean Acidification International Coordination Center

NOAA Administrator, Dr. Jane Lubchenco, and Britain's chief science advisor, John Beddington, unveiled an Ocean Acidification International Coordination Center in a New York Times Op-Ed.  This news comes as government leaders from around the world meet in Rio de Janeiro this week, to address our planet’s environmental challenges.  Many environmental leaders, including PMEL Carbon Group lead, Dr. Richard Feely, are emphasizing the issue of ocean acidification in discussions at the Rio +20 events.
