El Guapo is an active sulfide chimney standing 13 meters
(43 feet) tall and venting fluid at 338°C (640°F), very close
to the boiling point of seawater at this depth. This is one of the sulfide
chimneys found during dive ROPOS dive R1014 with the help of the MBARI
AUV high-resolution maps.
