WECOMA Sets Sail

Oregon State University's research vessel Wecoma left Newport, Oregon at 1040PST on February 9 1998 as a response cruise organized by NSF/RIDGE and NOAA/VENTS.

Ship is carrying 16 scientists and 12 crew members.

Chief Scientists: Jim Cowen (University of Hawaii) and Ed Baker (NOAA/VENTS)

Scientific equipment aboard:
6 Ocean Bottom Hydrophones (OBH's)
3 Conductivity/Temperature/Depth Recorder (CTD's)
1 RAFOS floats

Ship Schedule:
February 9 - depart Newport
February 16 - arrive Newport
