FY 1974 Precipitation at ocean weather stations in the North Pacific Reed, R.K., and W.P. Elliott J. Geophys. Res., 78(30), 7087–7091, doi: 10.1029/JC078i030p07087 (1973) Determination of precipitation at ocean weather stations in the North Pacific reveals much less annual rain than previous estimates, except in the northwestern part of the ocean, as well as a stronger north-south gradient. Seasonal distributions were about as shown on most charts except for the northwest Pacific. The amounts and isohyetal patterns at sea are quite different from those at coastal land stations.
