Hi, Ok, yes. You're right. When writing netCDF files, Ferret
defaults to whatever is the input-type when writing data read from
NetCDF files. For stream data and data from ascii files, the
default type for netCDF writes has been set to single-precision
float. For user-defined variables, the default is double
