Hi Antonio,
Please check again. I downloaded that tar file from this page,
http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/static/Downloads/linux_rhel6_x86_64_nc4_downloads.html
and I can see it there:
> tar tzf fer_environment.tar.gz | grep Finstall
bin/Finstall
bin/Finstall.csh

Hi,
I uninstalled the Ferret 6.8 and
replaced by 6.8.1 but i think the /usr/local/ferret/bin/Finstall
is missing in the
directory for Linux RedHat x86_64-linux
for RedHat 6.

Hi all,
We found a bug in Ferret v6.8. It affected non-standard
calendar time axes only, that is time axes with the
NOLEAP, JULIAN, ALL_LEAP, or 360_DAY calendars. The
translation of dates in command qualifiers to time
coordinates could be done incorrectly.
I have replaced the tar files for downloading Ferret, with
a corrected version named Ferret v6.81. If you have
installed Ferret v6.8, please update your installation.
Thank you!

the official release of Ferret
version 6.8 * * *
This release of Ferret has two
important upgrades: All calculations
are done in double precision, and we
have implemented a 6-dimensioned
grid. The release notes are linked
to the Documentation pages, http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/documentation/release-notes//version-6-8-release-notes
Ferret is backwards compatible, your
existing scripts and datasets will
work correctly with this version.
This Ferret release
includes executables for Linux 32-bit
and 64-bit linked with NetCDF-4.3
libraries and for Mac OSX.
To
install Ferret, follow the
instructions on the Downloads
pages of the Ferret web site
