[ferret_users] Re: Interpolation of meridians and paralells
Hi,
It should be the first message but it couldn't be seen on the page -- I don't know why.
Hello there,
I am dealing with such a problem.
I would like to interpolate meridians and paralells.
I have given them as sets of points:
Meridian latitudes:
1.5724303892463922
3.4000734091423084
5.227030818500822
7.052927431099064
8.877379531774054
10.699991693319035
12.520353407692639
14.338035475355099
16.152586090630905
17.96352655349051
19.770346528817313
21.57249876280426
23.36939315227363
25.160390046041243
33.126545746697516
and Meridian longitudes
-16.72390678997255
-15.910874699078825
-15.094754749530681
-14.2738594590045
-13.446465937185035
-12.610802781545694
-11.76503630974518
-10.907255935421968
-10.035458479186003
-9.147531188320457
-8.241233217094681
-7.314175294738565
-6.36379728031765
-5.387343273574308
-0.5843417124804345
and now how to make this curve much more smoother?
when we plot
plot/vs/line/over merlon, merlat
we obtain broken line.
The interpolations given in manuals rather deal with inperpolation function on xy surface.
Here we have rather 1 dimensional problem.
Any advices?
With best regards,
Szymon Roziewski
