As far as I understand this problem, FERRET can andle only small data sets for eof computation. Either you reduce your area or use other tools, like OCTAVE or R. You may check pyferret also but I am not sure about this.

Dear All, 
When i am calculating eof modes, it is taking lot of time to process for sst dataset of 10 years. 


Is there is any possible way so that only first four modes can be done so that time will reduce. 


My computer conf. are latest one.
