time axis

Hi,
I have a plot (a Tline) with a x axis including the 12 months (1 char)
og a year on the first line, and the year on the second line like
following:

J	F	M	A	M	J	J	etc
					1997 

I would like to make disappear 1997 of my x axis. I tried the command
ppl txtype yr,mon1 but it does not work

Does somebody have an idea?
