can we plot ".hdf " files in ferret

Dear Users,

I have files like "file.hdf", can we plot these .hdf files in ferret.

Also can we see the data , I mean is it possible to convert .hdf format 
to ASCII format inside ferret,  or anybody have any idea how to do this.
