ferret v5.5

I just tried un-installing 5.41 and installing 5.5 under windows 2000.  
When I tried to use 5.5, it gave "Unable to connect to X-Server" messages.  
I did nothing different between 5.41 and 5.5, but it couldn't connect to 
the X-server.  So I un-installed 5.5, re-installed 5.41, and everything 
works again.  Anybody else have a similar problem?
