Hi,
I have encountered a strange behaviour with FERRET 5.41 on AIX.
Working with a descriptor file  d1.des in dir1 and starting 
ferret in a different directory /work I get
 
yes? use "/dir1/d1" 
**TMAP ERR: non-existent or not on line
             No files on-line from data set
             Data set: /dir1/d1.des
             
             
yes? use "/dir1/d1.des" 
 ** netCDF error: Not a netcdf file
 is this a CDF file ?
 
Moreover, having another descriptor d1.des file in the working 
directory /work/d1.des

yes? use "/dir1/d1" 

works, but /work/d1.des ist used. But this can only be detected 
from data output, since 
yes? show data
     currently SET data sets:
    1> /dir1/d1.des  (default)
   
which is definitely wrong.

Is there a workaround or fix?
